1 week old puppy blisters

What would cause my 1 week old puppy to have a few blisters on his underbelly?

Sounds like a staph infection. This is not unusual if a puppy is sleeping on damp bedding/flooring. They spend all their time on their tummies, and bacteria can grow in warm, damp conditions.

I would suggest making sure that their bedding is kept dry, you may need to change it several times a day. Wash their tummies with an antibacterial soap daily and dry them well.

If the rash doesn't clear up, or gets worse, see your vet. The puppies may need an antibiotic to get rid of the infection. You might find my New Puppy Development page helpful as you raise this litter.
