10 week old yorkie, wont eat or drink ,constipated and vomiting

10 week old yorkie, won't eat or drink ,constipated and vomiting pretty much says ii all, they have x-rayed him for foreign objects and didn't see any.

Just wondering what else it could be, he just traveled from texas to alaska so i'm wondering if it isn't trip related, he came by plane.

Hi
You've already covered the first suggestion that I would have made - which would be to have him examined as it sounds as though he may have swallowed something that's caused an obstruction. Seemingly that has been ruled out already.

So, this vomiting could possibly be a reaction to the stress of his trip combined with some travel sickness. Puppies can get very anxious when traveling like this, and many times a pup won't poop for a day or two after coming into a new home. The flip-side of that is a puppy with stress-induced diarrhea though.

Pups can seem tired/depressed/homesick, have some puppy diarrhea, lose their appetite and generally look pretty sorry for themselves for the first few days in a new home. You can read more about what to expect during this transition period on my Bringing Home A New Puppy page.

The vomiting could be just due to stress, a change in diet, travel sickness, and so on, or he could be suffering from one of the more common, contagious dog illnesses that puppies are vulnerable to. If he doesn't improve pretty quickly, or you're still concerned, I can only recommend getting him back to your vet for another exam. Don't take any chances if you're worried.

Best of luck, hope he's doing much better soon.
