12 week old female Cockapoo with very itchy vagina

I have a 12 week old cockapoo Ginger. She's almost trained and good as gold.

For the last two days she's been going crazy with an itchy vagina. Every few steps she has to stop and lick and bite the itch. She even whimpers when she's doing it. There is no discharge and nothing that I can see abnormal.

It's killing me to see her like this any ideas?

I'd recommend that you have your vet take a look at Ginger as it's possible that she has an infection of some sort, even if you can't see any symptoms. A UTI could cause this sort of irritation, and if you've noticed an increase in the number of times she needs to urinate then it's a definite possibility.

It's also possible that it's an allergic reaction of some sort. For example, if you've bathed her recently the shampoo or soap could have caused irritation, or if the carpets have been cleaned, or her bed has been washed in detergent, or the grass outdoors has been treated with a chemical.... there are lots of possibilities.

Only your vet can figure out what's going on and treat the problem, so I'd strongly recommend that you get her an appointment soon so that this discomfort can come to an end.
