14 day old chihuahua pups eyes opened, next day one closed???

I have a new litter of chihuahuas and they are all thriving...The female opened her eyes first, two days ago...I check on them bout every 30 min to an hour as I have a heating pad to keep them warm.

Today, I noticed bout an hour ago her right eye is closed and looks a bit swollen...I wiped it gently and there was a little clear liquid...I wiped it gently with a solution of salt/water, then applied some neosporin...has anyone had this happen?

It sounds as though your little girl may have developed an eye infection.

Wiping with salt water and using Neosporin may be enough if you caught it early enough and it's a simple infection, or she just had something in her eye irritating it.

But, if the eye isn't open and clear within a day, I'd strongly recommend getting her examined by your veterinarian. Eye infections can lead to serious problems if left untreated.

Also, discharge from the eyes can be a sign of a more systemic infection, even a symptom of some serious dog illnesses, so this is a situation where I'd recommend getting a professional evaluation.
