16 week pup vaccination reaction

my pup just got her second set of shots. she's a little swollen in the side where they gave it to her.

should i be worried?

It's not unusual for a puppy to have some sort of reaction to her shots.

Symptoms such as some localized swelling at the site of the vaccination, loss of appetite and apparent tiredness are pretty minor and normally disappear within a day or two.

More serious reactions include hives/swelling all over the body, swelling of the head/face/mouth, vomiting, apparent dizziness or disorientation and seizures. These sort of reactions need immediate veterinary attention.

From what you describe it sounds as though your puppy is having a minor reaction, and should be fine within a day or so. However, if you notice any of the more serious symptoms, if she seems to feel really unwell, or if you're simply concerned about her, call your veterinarian and discuss it with him/her. It's always better to be safe than sorry.
