18 wk old staff has black pigments

Hi my 18 wk old pup has black pigments all over his belly, bottom and inside of back legs. It doesn't itch him but just concerned his vaccinations and worming are all up to date.

Is this pigmentation normal or do i need to be worried?

Without actually being able to SEE what you're describing it's impossible to say for sure whether this pigmentation is normal, or the symptom of a skin issue of some kind.

Black dogs, and dogs of other colors/mixed colors and certain breeds, often have areas of skin that isn't pink. It could be tan, or black, or even grayish. That is normal and simply reflects their coloring.

However, there are skin conditions that can cause a change in the color/texture/condition of a pup's skin, and a healed staph infection can also leave the skin dark or 'freckled'. Only your veterinarian can really tell whether or not the darker skin on your puppy is normal pigmentation or not, so I'd recommend having it checked out just to put your mind at rest.
