I have a 2 wk old puppy and she is being bottle fed. she had been eating a tbs of formula every 2 hours and going to the bathroom good. last night she was moaning and crying all night which she had not been doing before. she continued to eat okay thru the night and in the morning but then I noticed her gums and tongue were lighter than usual she is no longer as active as she had been and her stomach is bloated.
I thought maybe she was constipated so I rubbed her tummy until she went to the potty it was solid. she is no longer crying but her stomach is still bloated and her gums are white.
Hi
This little girl needs to be seen by a veterinarian asap.
New born puppies can suddenly start to go 'downhill' very quickly, and it's quite possible for them to fade and die if they don't get the right treatment.
I'm afraid it's impossible for me to say shy she is less active, or why her tummy is swollen and her gums pale - only your vet can make an accurate diagnosis after giving her an exam.
A severe infestation of worms is a possibility, but so is infection or a hereditary condition. Please get her to your veterinarian right away so that you can find out for sure what is causing her problems and hopefully get her the help she needs in time to make a full recovery.
I wish you the very best of luck and hope she's doing much better soon.
