We have had our puppy for just about 2 weeks now. He is usually very energetic and never wants to be in his crate.
Today he started limping on one of his hind legs and is no longer energetic. After taking him outside to pee, he came in and went right to his bed in his crate. He almost seems depressed as well.
What could be wrong?
Hi
This is really a question to ask your veterinarian if your pup doesn't improve within a day or so.
It's possible that he simply hurt himself playing and if he's uncomfortable or in pain he will just want to lie down and stay away from 'where the action is' - that's his natural instinct.
It's also possible that he's suffering from 'growing pains' (also known as Panosteitis) This is especially common in large and giant breed pups particularly under 6 months of age.
If your pup isn't much better within the next 24 hours (or if he starts to get worse), then it's important to get him examined by your vet so that you can find out what's wrong and get him any treatment necessary.
Hope this helps, best of luck with your puppy.
