4 month old pitbull puppy not eating

by Linda
(Elk Grove California)

My puppy stopped eating yesterday and is lethargic, he wouldn't drink either and had foam so I force fed him liquids, pedialyte and gatorade.

He started drinking water only to throw it up again but now he has worms coming out when he vomits and he had bloody diarhea last night one....is it parvo or something else?

Hi Linda
I'm afraid it's impossible for me to say whether its' Parvo or some other illness that's causing your pups' problems.

BUT it sounds as though it could well be Parvo, and Pitbulls are especially vulnerable to that virus. You need to get your pup immediate veterinary help if he's to recover. Bloody diarrhea and persistent vomiting are signs that something is really wrong. Without proper care he could end up in serious trouble.

Please get him to a vet right away. Best of luck, hope he pulls through.

4MONTH OLD PITTBULL
by: Anonymous

i have a 4mnt old pitt as well and this morning he was throwing up that clear foam like stuff. He was not eating, drinking, and acting like he was going to check out.So i took him to the vet which can be hella expense they charged me $43 jus to say basically nothing they wanted hella money.so i came home and got on the computer and found this herb med call Provo-k which is$25.this is a medication that helps prevent and get rid of the provo symptoms and its much cheaper then payin hundreds at the vet.google it it also have great reviews..But in the mean time i boiled some chicken and rice and hand feed him.Now my dog is comin back to life.the only thing is he's only drinkin a lil amount of water, but will drink milk..so if thats what will keep him hydrated and he has not thrown up since...

My pits goin thru the same probs an yes parvo is out in high force this yr but all his shots r up to date an even so they tell me he could still contract parvo. :( but all I can do is let it run its course till the wkn is over I'm so scared he will not eat or poop have tried everything an milk hasn't worked. does any1 have a clue? Plz help. The vet says seein hes had his shots I'm in no danger of loosin him but he can get dehydrated so keep out the fluids but if hes throwin them up what good r they he likes the popscicles tho. sorry 4 the spellin' but i'm not good at this I just wish I had answers. an online vets won't help w/o $ either. Is there a warm heart in this world besides always pay me 1st for nonsence that for the most part U may already know.
