I have 9 puppies that are 5 1/2 weeks old. All of them have had watery stools for 3 days now.
They are not with the mom anymore and are eating moistened dog food. They still seem active except for the runt. I can't afford to take all of them to the vet.
What is a good solution?
Hi
At only 5 weeks old your puppies are very vulnerable to all sorts of dog illnesses, and if they're all sick they will all need to be treated.
Watery puppy diarrhea can be caused by viral, bacterial or parasitic conditions. As your puppies still seem active and are eating/drinking it's probably not Parvo (but there are no guarantees). However it could be Coccidiosis or something similar.
Repeated diarrhea alone is dangerous to your pups, and you need to find out what's causing this. I'd recommend taking one or two of the puppies to your vet for examination and fecal tests. Chances are whatever that pup has, the others do too. Then your vet can give you the correct medication to treat them all.
Best of luck, hope they're doing much better soon.
