The mother is full blooded Boston Terrier....dad is full blooded Pekingese.
Mom had 4 pups....not her first litter...it's her 4th....and she's a good mommy.
One puppy is really congested......is feeding and moving around good....making puppy cries too.
Is there anything we can do to help it get better here at home?
Thanks,
Shane Keller
Hi Shane
I really recommend that you have your veterinarian check this puppy out. It's not normal for a puppy to be congested like this and if he has an infection of some sort then it could get worse very quickly. Your vet will be able to determine whether or not antibiotics are needed before things get bad.
Given that these pups are small breed puppies and that they're part Boston Terrier, it's possible that the congestion is due to shortened/narrow breathing passages. Nasal issues like this can happen in these breeds and it's best to make sure that everything is normal with this pup.
The fact that he seems happy and healthy otherwise and is nursing and moving around is good, hopefully there is nothing wrong, but you really need to have your vet make that call.
Hope this helps, I wish you lots of luck with these puppies.
