6 yr old Shi Poo scratching and loosing clumps of hair.

I try to feed my shi poo with only a healthy diet. No table scraps. She just recently started losing more clumps of hair than previously, and for the first time in her six years is scratching a lot.

I added a half of raw egg to her food recently. Could that be the cause? I also always add a little olive oil and fish oil to her food.

Hi Bonnie
It sounds to me as though your dog is suffering from dog allergies of some sort, and I would definitely consider the egg a possible culprit!

Dog food allergies are actually pretty common, and egg is a common trigger. I'd stop the egg and see if it improves, bear in mind it can take up to 6 weeks for an allergen to clear out of her system though.

The fish oil and olive oil are good for her skin and shouldn't cause any problems, however if they're also a new addition to her diet I'd recommend stopping them all right away. Then when she's recovered, you could try adding one oil at a time and giving her a week or two to make sure there isn't any reaction.

Hope this helps. Best of luck, and hopefully she will be doing much better soon.
