Hello - my 7 month old great dane has been haave some green discharge coming out of his penis...

is this normal or something I need to worry about?

Hi Heather
Many male dogs have a small amount of discharge from their penis on a regular basis, it may be cream colored or yellow or green. This is normal, particularly in puppies or dogs that haven't been neutered. Neutering often stops this from happening.

However, profuse discharge or one that is tinged with blood, or if your dog is continually licking his genitals as well, could indicate a problem.

It could be a localized infection or irritation, or a urinary tract infection or other health issue. If you're concerned I'd recommend taking your pup to your own veterinarian for a check up. That way you can put your mind at rest and be sure that there's nothing that needs to be treated.

Hope this helps, best of luck with your pup.
