8 week old Maltipoo puppy has a swollen rectum after bowel movement

My maltipoo puppy is 8 weeks old ans just had a bowel movement that left his anal region very swollen.

It looked like he was straining while pooping as well. Is everything ok?

If he looked as though he was straining hard, he may be a little constipated. This isn't terribly unusual in puppies and is more common in these smaller breeds.

Increasing his fluid intake is a good idea as that will help keep his stools soft.
