my 9wk pitbull pees a lot, is anything wrong?

Hi Antron
That depends on how much is 'a lot' and whether he actually NEEDS to pee each time or is just passing a couple of drops.

Puppies of this age need a potty break approximately every 30 minutes to an hour, and that is perfectly normal. They may need to go more often (and pee more than once each time) first thing in the morning and later in the evening.

However, if your pup is peeing more often than this, and sometimes seems to need to 'go' without actually passing more than a drop of urine, it could be that he has a bladder infection (aka a 'UTI'). This is relatively common in puppies, but more often seen in females than males.

I'd recommend that you read my Potty Train A Puppy and Crate Training A Puppy pages for help and advice on housebreaking.

If you are concerned about your pups' health or think he may have a UTI, then it's important to have him examined by your veterinarian.

Hope this helps, best of luck with your puppy.
