9 week old puppy, slimey gooey mucus like poop?

Hi there,
I just got a 9 week old chihuahua yesterday, and he was doing fine with eating pooping etc.

But than all of a sudden, he doesn't have much of an appetite and he's pooping slimey gooey clearish yellow mucus like substances, like pooping mucus..

wondering what it could possibly be?

If you've changed your puppy's food from the one he was eating at his original home then these loose stools could simply be caused by this change in diet. That is fairly common.

The best way to prevent this from happening is to gradually transition from one food to another by mixing them, and slowly increasing the new while decreasing the old.

There are many different reasons for a puppy to have diarrhea though, including infection, dog illnesses, parasites such as puppy worms and more.

As you have just got this puppy I strongly suggest that you have him checked out by your vet asap. That way you will be sure that he is healthy and you can also get his puppy shots started.
