Abnormal or Not?

My dog pregnant Golden Retriever Ponni (Tamil name meaning Golden)has been acting very different though she's only been pregnant for a week.

She eats a lot, rarely drinks and sleep for almost 2 thirds of the day. Is this Normal for her?

If it's only been a week since your dog was mated, are you sure she's pregnant? Not all coupling result in pregnancy, even when the two dogs 'tie'.

It's possible that there's something else going on and that your dog isn't feeling well. Any significant change from what is 'normal' for your dog should be discussed with your veterinarian.

It's always better to be safe than sorry, and I wouldn't necessarily attribute these sorts of changes to pregnancy, especially so early on.

I'd recommend taking your dog to the vet to be safe. Best of luck!
