Puppy is 7 weeks old, standard poodle.
When she walks she sometimes stumbles, like her feet are too big for her, but then at times it's like her balance is off, or her equilbrium is off?
Any thoughts?
Hi Heather
I'm afraid this is a question for the experts, and I'd recommend that you take your pup to your vet for an examination.
The problem is that there are a lot of possible reasons for stumbling, dizziness, loss of balance etc. and it's impossible for me to say which one/s could be at the root of your pups problem.
In small/tiny dogs, hypoglycemia is often the reason behind these sorts of symtpoms, but in a Standard Poodle pup that's a lot less likely.
Neurological or spinal problems would be my first guess, but it could be an inner-ear problem, infection, tick-borne illness or a number of other things.
Hopefully it's not anything serious, but I'd definitely recommend that you have your pup checked out so that you can get to the bottom of this asap.
Best of luck, hope your pup is doing much better soon.
