If you've been having trouble finding the perfect Alaskan dog name for your Husky, Malamute or northern breed.... you've come to the right place. There are tons of great choices right here.
Northern dog breeds (such as the Husky, Malamute, Klee Klai, Samoyed and more) are stunning, powerful and independent... and names chosen from the native Alaskan languages can reflect that beautifully.
I've put together a list of popular native Alaskan names (suitable for males or females) plus their meanings.
I'm sure you'll find the perfect fit for your pup!

* There are several native Alaskan languages, and that's why in some cases there's more than one name with the same meaning.
Although they may originate in different countries, these northern breeds share similar characteristics such as their gorgeous, thick coats, curled tails and strong-willed personalities.
Some are ancient breeds (such as the Icelandic Sheepdog), others are much newer (such as the Alaskan Klee Klai), but I think any of the exotic names in the above list would be a perfect fit for each and every one of them :)
