Friend bought a "pocket pit"? Two days ago. The breeder said he'd given him parvo and de worming shots. The dog is skinny and won't eat the guy said he gives him goats milk and water but the pup throws it up, and has diarrhea. The pup is tiny it doesn't even look a month old yet.
Should I tell my friend to give him back to the breeder, who said it was a reaction to the shots, or is their something I can recommend to my friend.
I want what's in the best interest for that baby dog.
Hi RV
It sounds as though this little one is way too young to have left his momma and littermates, and may even be sick.
The best route here is to get this puppy to a veterinarian right away so that your friend can make sure he's healthy, get his puppy shots taken care of and find out how old he is.
There are a lot of irresponsible breeders out there who sell puppies way before they're ready to leave their canine families and definitely don't have the best interests of these babies at heart. Young pups need lots of love and attention, the right diet, proper vet care and a whole lot more. Check out my New Puppy Care page for lots of info. and advice on this. Best of luck.
