BALD SPOT ON NEWBORN BOSTON

I HAVE A BOSTON TERRIER THAT WAS BORN WITH A TINY BALD SPOT ON HER SIDE. AND IT SEEMS TO BE GROWING AS SHE DOES.

ALL THE OTHER PUPPIES ARE FINE NO BALD SPOTS. THE VET. SAID IT COULD BE A BIRTH MARK. THANKS

If this bald spot is expanding as she grows, but not actually getting bigger in itself (if you know what I mean), then your veterinarian could be right. Perhaps it's just one of those little idiosyncrasies that all living things get from time to time.

However, if it seems itchy, reddened, this spot starts to grow more than you would expect, or she develops others, then your vet may need to re-evaluate the situation. At that point, Mange or other skin conditions would need to be considered.

As she seems happy and healthy otherwise I wouldn't worry too much about this right now. Best of luck with your newborn puppies.
