My puppy is 10 months old and he and his sister a yellow lab having both been coughing coughing coughing.
The vet thought it was an infection so she put them on antibotics it cured our female yellow lab also 10 months old but, didn't cure our black lab he wasn't eating much and has lost weight.
His coughing is more like a choking wheezing any idea whats wrong?
Hi Christina
I'd strongly recommend that you take your pup back to your veterinarian for another checkup, it sounds as though he may need some more, or a different type of, antibiotics.
Chances are good that both pups have the same condition, and if treatment was successful with the female, then it should also work for the male, but his body may just need more medication, or react differently. He may also have had a more severe case.
I'm wondering if it could be Kennel Cough, but severe enough to cause vomiting? It could also be a parasitic infection. I'm afraid I'm not a vet though, and this pup definitely needs to be seen by a vet again.
