BLOOD IN PUPPY PEE

Hi, we have a 5 month old female boston terrier boxer mix and she's gotten all her shots and is fine with worming.

Yesterday my dad went in the bathroom, and that's were we keep her when we don't have her out and she pees on newspaper, and there was a good size puddle of pee and blood together. There's none today but i don't know what the problem is HELP!

Hi
Blood in the urine is most likely due to irritation of some sort, it could be that she's not drinking enough water and her urine is very acidic, or that she has a Urinary Tract Infection (fairly common in puppies, especially female pups).

It could also be a sign of kidney problems, but that's less likely in an otherwise healthy young puppy.

If it happens again, if she seems to need to pee more often than usual or shows signs of distress or pain on urination, or if she shows any signs of illness such as shaking, panting, lethargy, loss of appetite and so on, then you need to have her examined by a veterinarian right away.

If this doesn't happen again, and she seems perfectly happy and healthy otherwise then I wouldn't worry too much about it just yet. But definitely keep an eye on her and get her to a vet if you are at all worried.

Also, mention it to your vet at her next routine appointment anyway.

Hope this helps. Best of luck with your puppy.
