Boxer puppy's face is swollen

When we got home this evening our 2 month old Boxer's face is swollen. It's primarily on the left side but he was fine this morning.

He shares a kennel with our 9 wk old Boston Terrier who is fine. What could have caused this?

Hi
There are a few possibilities that come to mind.... if your pup had any of his puppy shots within the last day or so it's possible that he's had an allergic reaction to them. This isn't terribly unusual and facial swelling is a classic sign of this.

It's also possible that he's been stung or bitten by an insect of some sort. Bee/wasp stings tend to cause some significant swelling if they occur on the face.

Or perhaps your Boston has nipped or scratched your Boxers face and caused the swelling.

I'd check him closely to see if you can find any obvious signs of injury etc. If the swelling doesn't go down pretty quickly, or gets worse, have him examined by your vet right away.

Best of luck.
