Bud The wonder dog!

by Elizabeth
(Nashua NH)

I adopted Bud Bud from a shelter. He was a shepherd hound mix and was by far the most memorable dog of my life.

I could go on and on about his wonderful unique personality but I don't have time to write a novel.

Bud was large dirty and underfed and had been at the local shelter for months, I brought him home out of pure pity, I already has a GSD mix and was actually looking for a smaller breed...but, that was not in the stars and I'm glad.

Bud must have been kicked often by his former owners as he did not like feet, if they came near him he would give a quiet growl and remove himself. It didn't take long before he realized he would not be harmed at our house, he could be used as a foot stool within a few short months.

He was the happiest dog I've ever known who wanted nothing more than to love us and please us.

We lost Bud Bud this past year after 12 years, he was 14 years old. I swear he was grateful to be in our home every day of his life and is still looking down upon us and the kids with his smile and happy tail.

We are building a new house and will be moving in a few months. We are managing the project ourselves and have little free time so we decided to wait until we move to get another dog.

Adopting a dog and giving it a forever home was a wonderful and rewarding experience. I cannot wait for the day that I can again get another pet from shelter for our family to love and for them to love us in return.
