can a puppies testicles dropping hurt the dog

We have had our Pom puppy for a month and a half now. He is now 4 1/2 months old.

He seemed to be in a lot of pain one day. He would yelp any time we touched his tummy. He had a swollen tummy so I thought it was because we were feeding him to much. I cut him down to one small feeding a day to see if he got better. He seems much better now, but I just noticed he has balls now that weren't their before this started.

Could that have been causing his pain or could it have been over feeding. I was giving him two hand fulls of food a day. That didn't seem like to much. Probably about 1/2 to 2/3 a cup a day between two feedings.

I've never seen a puppy experience pain when his testicles dropped, normally it happens without any noticeable changes in behavior. I'm not a veterinarian so I can't say for sure that this doesn't happen, just that I've never seen it.

From what you say, it doesn't sound as though you're overfeeding your puppy, so I'm not sure what caused his discomfort. As he has had a distended tummy it's possible that he has puppy worms, although I'm assuming that he was dewormed by your veterinarian when he had his puppy shots earlier on.

I'd personally recommend having him examined by your veterinarian to make sure that there's nothing wrong, and no underlying health condition that caused his symptoms.
