hi,
there's a clicking sound when my puppy breathes and i was wondering if i should be worried about it or if it's normal?
Hi
I don't know how old your puppy is, what breed he/she is, or whether there are any other symptoms so it's impossible to say if this is something to be worried about or not I'm afraid.
If he seems happy and active, is eating and drinking normally and isn't showing any signs of illness, chances are it's not something to panic about and I would recommend mentioning it to your veterinarian at his next scheduled appointment so that you can put your mind at rest.
But, if there is any mucus or discharge from his eyes or nose, or if he vomits, gags or has problems eating or drinking, or seems unwell in ANY way, then I'd definitely suggest that you have him examined by your vet right away.
Some brachycephalic (short-nosed) breeds can have narrow, short nasal passages and problems with their soft palate and this can cause odd noises when they breathe, plus other more serious issues from time to time.
Also an upper respiratory tract infection or some other canine diseases can cause mucus build up, discharge and so on.
Any of these issues need professional evaluation so your pup would need to be examined by your vet to get an accurate diagnosis.
Hope this helps, best of luck.
