coughing noise

I have a 7 week old dachshund is making a snorting/light coughing noise..it almost sounds like a stopped up nose.. mostly in the night time... what is it?

and is there anything I can do?

It's impossible to say for sure what's causing your pup to make this noise, but it could be that he has a virus such as Kennel Cough, or perhaps a bacterial infection.

Coughing, nasal discharge etc. should always be checked out by a vet as it could be a sign of one of several dog illnesses that puppies are vulnerable to.,

I can only really recommend that you have your little guy checked out by your vet asap, as young puppies can get very sick very fast and it's always better to be safe than sorry.
