could she still have parvo?

I adopted my little girl last week from the local friends for animals shelter. I was informed that she is a parvo survivor. We have noticed that her tummy is very warm and her nose is also warm and dry.

She has a bit of a cough like she is trying to get something up but she has only been able to get anything up once and it was a clear almost foamy substance. She also has a milky runny nose. could she still have parvo?

Hi
Canine Parvovirus is a very serious illness, and even once a pup has survived the 'acute' phase, it can take several weeks for her to get back to normal and regain weight and energy levels.

If your pup has a cough and nasal discharge it's possible that she's developed a secondary bacterial infection because her immune system is weak from fighting off the Parvo. I'd recommend that you have your own veterinarian examine her asap so that if she needs any treatment you can get it for her immediately. It's always easier, and less expensive, to treat a problem early on, rather than once it's become more serious.

Your little girl is beautiful and she must be a fighter to have survived Parvo, so please make sure she gets what she needs to stay on the road to recovery by having your vet take a look at her.

Best of luck, hope she's 100% healthy soon.
