do you give a one month dog milk?

my friend wants to know if you feeed a one month dog milk or dog food/



Hi Alex
A puppy of four or five weeks old should be in the process of being weaned.

Dry puppy food, soaked in warm water for 10 mins before feeding, is a good place to start. It's really not necessary to give a puppy of this age milk, unless it seems malnourished. Give this puppy at least three meals per day.

Lapping water shouldn't be a problem. If you feel this puppy may need additional nutrition and want to give him a little milk, don't use cows/goats milk. Instead, get some puppy formula from the petstore or veterinarians' office and use that as the fluid at one meal per day.
