Dog Agility Obstacle Courses

dog agility obstacle courses

These fun videos show dogs of all different ages, sizes and breeds, running dog agility obstacle courses and having a great time!

You'll enjoy watching them if you're already into dog agility, thinking about buying an agility puppy, or just want to see what this dog agility thing is all about.

You'll also find information on dog agility equipment and books that can help you get off on the 'right paw'. This fun sport is enjoyed by a wide variety of different dog breeds, and people!

So, let's get started...

This first dog agility video is a compilation, showing different breeds, handlers and equipment.

It's a good example of how dog agility obstacle courses can help almost any size of dog have tons of fun, and keep in good shape at the same time.

In addition to the more mainstream dog agility equipment, you can also find Teacup Dog Agility equipment and competitors.

This next dog agility video shows a tiny chihuahua negotiating a dog agility obstacle course. Of course everybody knows that chihuahuas don't even KNOW that they're small dogs...you just can't keep a little dog down!

If you're interested in finding out more about teacup dog agility equipment regulations and sizes, rules and general information, you can find it on the Teacup Dog Agility Association website.

If you're thinking about taking part in dog agility with your puppy, you'll enjoy this next video.

It shows an older puppy in a dog agility training class, and gives you a good idea of what you'll be doing when you start formal training. It looks like a very fun, low-intensity type of class and should encourage you to give dog agility a try.

Even older children and teenagers can train their dogs to run dog agility obstacle courses.

The video below shows dog agility for teens, and uses 4 h dog agility equipment. It's a great way to help youngsters bond with their dog while having fun.

It's also a good outlet for all that extra energy that kids and puppies seem to have in abundance!

If you know someone else who'd really enjoy these videos, you can share this page with them right now!

Dog Agility is a sport just about any dog, and anyone, can take part in. You can join a local school or club where you can train and enter competitions, or build a dog agility obstacle course in your own back yard just for fun!

All you need to get started is a good Agility Dog Book (try Agility Training for You and Your Dog: From Backyard Fun to High-Performance Training for example), and some basic agility equipment.

You can buy a set of equipment such as Agility-in-a-Bag Set, or buy the Weave Poles, or Agility Bar Jumps and Agility Tunnel separately.

TIP:If you plan on buying all of these pieces, the all-in-one set is a better buy!

If you're even a little bit 'handy' with tools and know your way around a hardware store, you can rustle up the makings of your own Dog Agility Obstacle Courses with the help of this book - Dog Agility Equipment Construction Instructions: YOU CAN! Build Better Training Obstacles for your Dog

Check out our other dog agility pages below for lots more information, tips and advice.

There's something for everyone, whether you're already sure you want to start training an agility dog, are a bona-fide dog agility enthusiast or even if you're just thinking about taking up this popular sport.

Have Fun!
