Dog has funny hips movements while walking
by claudia Murga
My one year old Westland terrier is throwing her hips on the sides while she walks. kicks back as reflexes on her rear legs and won't sit fully on her bum. We noticed this for two days already.
We sent her for a puppy grooming and they cut all her fur down all the way arguing her fur was full of hairknots. We do not think that is the reason.
Is she constipated or is any other conditions we might be ignoring?
I'd strongly recommend that you have your dog examined by your veterinarian to make sure that she's not hurt herself in some way and it's causing the problems you're seeing.
If this all started at the groomers, it's possible that she injured herself in some way while there... especially if it's not somewhere she is familiar with visiting and may have been restless or agitated. I kind of doubt that her haircut itself is the problem though.
Constipation could possibly cause her to be reluctant to sit but I don't think it would account for her strange way of walking... but bear in mind I'm not a vet and all of this is just my 'two cents worth'!
Definitely do get her to your own veterinarian asap though so you can make sure everything is okay. Good luck, hope she's back to normal soon.
