Dog Separation Anxiety Medication

naughty beagle puppy
For anxious/fearful pups, dog separation anxiety medication can make his life (and yours!) a lot calmer. If your pup or dog suffers from canine anxiety or gets stressed, agitated or destructive when you're not home - you need some help.

It can be difficult to totally cure a dog of separation anxiety, but behavioral modifications combined with gentle remedies/medications can greatly relieve, and even eliminate, the distress and destruction this condition causes.

See our 'Understanding Dog Separation Anxiety' page to better understand the causes of this problem, and our Dog Training for Separation Anxiety page to learn how to train and modify your dogs' behavior.

You can even find lots of toys and tools for managing separation anxiety, including amazing DVDs, CDs and interactive toys to keep Fido busy.

You'll find the simple techniques and tips greatly reduce, and is some cases may even totally eliminate, his symptoms. For extra help and to speed up the process, combine behavioral therapy with one of the dog separation anxiety medications and products below.

Can you imagine being able to go to work, on a shopping trip, out with friends etc. without worrying about how much damage Fido will have done before you get home.

Wouldn't it be wonderful to not feel worried about how upset your dog is feeling when you're not there, or to dread hearing the neighbors complain (yet again!) about his incessant barking and whining?

If you follow the advice on our Dog Training for Separation Anxiety page and use one of the products below to enhance your behavioral work, that will soon all be a thing of the past!

In addition to these natural options for dog separation anxiety medication above, a dog relaxation cd can really help reduce canine anxiety linked to separation, or other triggers such as storm, car travel and so on.

Learn more about music for dogs and find the best dog relaxation cd's, dvd's and more on my Dog Relaxation CD page.

If, after you've employed the dog training for separation anxiety tips and techniques that we recommend (and also combined them with natural dog separation anxiety medication) your dog is still experiencing difficulties and stress when you leave him - then you really need to talk with your veterinarian.

It's likely that your dog has a serious and severe case of dog separation anxiety, and your veterinarian may prescribe medications such as tranquilizers, or anti-depressants for Fido, and probably refer you to a dog behavioral specialist.

This is a last-resort kind of thing, as you don't want to medicate your dog this way if there's an alternative.

However, when behavioral modification and natural remedies fail, don't let your pup continue to suffer the stress of dog separation anxiety. Let your veterinarian help you both get your lives back!
