eating rocks

How do I get my puppy to stop eating rocks? She throws them up with yellow liquidy stuff.

Puppies have a strong desire to chew on anything and everything that they come across. Some seem to be more inclined to actually eat these items than others though!

Apart from actually physically separating your puppy from the rocks, this is a tricky one. Whenever you're walking her, give her a sharp leash correction (tug) with a firm "NO" whenever she tries to pick up a rock.

In the yard, make sure she doesn't have free access to stones/rocky paths etc. These stones could cause some serious damage if they get lodged in her intestines.

This is rarely caused by a dietary deficiency etc., so the only real concern is that she can hurt her 'insides'.

Puppy proofing your yard, supervision and correction are the only answers right now - and hope that she grows out of this habit.
