Feeding problems in 8 week old puppy

Hi,
I gave my puppy who is 8 weeks old a milk replacer because he was not drinking water and I felt like he did not get enough food and nutrition.

Now he is whiny and bloated ,has this constipated him or what could be wrong?

Hi
Chances are he's simply drank too much of the milk and has overfilled his tummy! It should improve quite quickly, but if it doesn't or he seems to feel worse, or starts to dry-heave then get him to a vet right away.

At 8 weeks old he should be perfectly capable of eating puppy kibble and drinking water, he really doesn't need a milk replacement. As long as you are giving him a high quality puppy food he will get the right balance of nutrients from that.

When a puppy first comes into his/her new home they often are a little homesick and may seem more tired than normal, lose their appetites or look sad. It's normal, and as long as there are no other signs of illness (such as puppy diarrhea or vomiting generally it's nothing to worry about. You can read more about this on my Bringing Home A New Puppy page.

Hope this helps, best of luck with your new pup.
