Golden Memories

They say memories are golden,
Well maybe that is true.
I never wanted memories,
I only wanted you.
If I walked the path to heaven,
And heartache make a lane,
I'd walk the path to heaven,
and bring you back again.

Thank you Vicky
by: Lauren

Thank you Vicky for this beautiful poem. I lost my Pomeranian baby girlname Kiki to liver failure in December 2010. This poem means so much to me I can't even tell you. It expresses everything I want to say to my baby who was my life. I hope to see her again one day.

I wrote this as a poem, not a haiku.
by: Vicky Holder

MY NAME IS VICKY HOLDER, AND I WROTE THIS POEM January of 2000 for my chihuahua BABY, who died from lung cancer. IT IS CALLED,"I ONLY WANTED YOU" SOME LIKE TO CALL IT,"MEMORIES ARE GOLDEN." IT GOES LIKE THIS,
THEY SAY MEMORIES ARE GOLDEN,
WELL, MAYBE THIS IS TRUE.
I NEVER WANTED MEMORIES,
I ONLY WANTED YOU.
A MILLION TIMES I NEEDED YOU,
A MILLION TIMES I CRIED.
IF LOVE ALONE COULD HAVE SAVED YOU,
YOU NEVER WOULD HAVE DIED.
IN LIFE I LOVED YOU DEARLY,
IN DEATH I LOVE YOU STILL.
IN MY HEART YOU HOLD A PLACE,
NO ONE COULD EVER FILL.
IF TEARS COULD BUILD A STAIRWAY,
AND HEARTACHE MAKE A LANE,
I'D WALK THE PATH TO HEAVEN,
AND BRING YOU HOME AGAIN.
OUR FAMILY CHAIN IS BROKEN,
AND NOTHING SEEMS THE SAME.
BUT AS GOD CALLS US ONE BY ONE,
THE CHAIN WILL LINK AGAIN.
