I have a new jack russell puppy she is 7 weeks old, she is still at the sleepy 80% of the time and lively in short bursts.. but i'm a little concerned about her eyesight.
I can't put my finger on it, she just doesn't seem to follow things.. is quite clumsy bumping into stuff etc..
Hi Brenda
At 8 weeks most puppies are clumsy and tend to fall over their feet, bump into things and can be a bit 'scattered' when you try to get them to focus on you.
There is most likely nothing wrong with your puppy's eyesight and as she matures over the next few weeks she will soon be much less awkward.
But of course sometimes there are eye problems or vision issues that need to be taken care of. Often if this is the case there will be something that you can see physically - such as a cloudy or 'milky' appearance to the eye, redness, bulging etc. BUT not always.
If you're concerned I would strongly suggest that you have your veterinarian take a look at your puppy's eyes to make sure all is well. If he thinks there could be a problem he will be able to tell you and refer her to a specialist if necessary.
But that is unlikely to be the case and will put your mind at rest.
Hope this helps, best of luck with your little girl.
