why is my puppy lifeless after spaying her?

Hi Lissa
Dog Spaying is a surgical procedure, and your pup has had to be anesthetized, and take some pain killers. Both of these will make her feel tired/sleepy.

The effects of anesthetics can last up to 48 hours, and the sedative effect of painkillers will remain for as long as she needs to take them.

Also, her body needs rest to heal, and this is natures' way of helping her do just that.

As long as her stitches and incision area looks clean and dry, and the area isn't hot or oozing pus, then chances are everything is just fine. Let her get as much rest as she needs and within a few days she should 'bounce back'.

However, if you think there may be infection at the area of the incision, if she refuses to eat or drink, shakes, pants or whines a lot, vomits or has diarrhea or any other signs of illness, get in touch with your vet right away. Infections can occur after surgery and the sooner they're treated the better.

I wish you the best of luck and hope your pup is back to normal soon.
