Is it ok to cut/shave shih-pooh hair?

Got a 6mo old shih-poo pup and had it shaved because of matted hair.

I am kinda worried about her hair if it would grow back? Is shaving ok for my pup?

If a pups' hair is matted down to the skin, shaving is usually the only option. I know it can look very severe at first, but the hair will grow back given time.

When a pup is shaved it has no protection from heat or cold, so don't allow her out in an extremes of temperature.

To make sure that this doesn't happen again, groom her regularly as soon as her hair starts to grow back. You can find tips on this on my Dog Grooming page.
