Hi, I have a three month old Bull Terrier and he is Kennel and Potty trained. He has slept in his kennel from day one, but for the past few nights I have been letting him sleep in my bed with me, with no issues.
I actually believe he sleeps better. I am afraid by doing this that he will refuse to go in his kennel while I am away at work, even though when I give him a treat he goes to his kennel with it.
Anyone have any advice? Thanks
Hi Jessica
At this point I think whether or not your puppy sleeps with you, or in his crate, is just a matter of personal preference.
While you're crate training a young puppy they're not reliable at night or unsupervised, and not crating them at night can cause housebreaking problems.
BUT, now your pup is reliable in this way and you're not risking puddles or piles on the bedroom floor it's up to you where he sleeps.
If you do choose to let him sleep with you, just remember to crate him from time to time during the day, and when you're not at home, so that he doesn't 'forget' that part of his training.
Hope this helps, best of luck with your puppy
