I have a 7 month old puppy that is recovering from parvo. She's doing great eating and drinking on her own. All symptoms are gone, no vomiting no diarrhea and she definitely is out of the depressed and lethargic state she was in.
Now she did start showing she had cold in her eye or mucous forming. I cleaned it regularly and now is slowly going away. But now the one eye has a gun metal blue haze to it.
Is this a sign of blindness in the one eye??? Is it anything to really worry about????
Hi Andy
I'd definitely recommend that you get your puppy examined by your veterinarian right away because you need to find out what's causing this cloudiness/haze in your pup's eye.
An infection or injury to the eye often needs antibiotics to prevent long term damage so this could be the case here. A cloudiness in the eye is often a sign of damage to the cornea (either temporary or permanent), but whether that's the case here or not I can't say as I'm not a veterinarian.
Your puppy is one of the lucky ones to have survived Canine Parvovirus so congratulations on her recovery.
The virus would have lowered her immune system and it's possible that an infection got to her eye while that was the case. Hopefully with treatment she will also make a full recovery from this issue. Lots of luck with her.
