losing hair on head

i have a 5 month staffy bitch and she keeps losing hair on her head..

Puppy hair loss (and hair loss in older dogs) can be caused by a variety of things, from allergies to parasites.

However, Staffys' tend to be susceptible to a parasitic condition called Mange, and typically the hair loss in this condition starts on the head, muzzle and/or front legs.

I recommend that you take your pup to your vet for an examination, a simple skin test can determine whether your pup has mange, and your vet can also explore other options such as Ringworm or allergies if necessary. Treatment for mange is pretty simple and includes special shampoos/dips.

The sooner you diagnose and treat something like this the quicker, easier (and cheaper!) it is. Hope this helps, best of luck with your pup.
