Hi Melissa
I'm sorry that you're so worried and that your pup is having problems, but hopefully you have already been in touch with your veterinarian and are getting him the evaluation he needs.

My best guess is that he's developed a urinary tract infection, this is actually fairly common in puppies. The most obvious signs of a UTI are sudden, urgent urges to urinate coupled with a lack of control.... basically when he needs to go, he needs to go NOW!

Although a dog with a UTI may pee a normal amount at times, often they just pass a few drops in between, but they feel the need to squat (or lift their leg) anyway.

This isn't a huge problem (except for your furniture/carpets) in the short term and a course of the correct antibiotics will usually clear it up quickly. However, left untreated a UTI can cause serious problems by affecting other organs such as the kidneys.

If you haven't already got your pup to the vet please get him an appointment right away so that he can start to feel better.

I wish you lots of luck and hope he's back to normal soon.
