Miss GAO - my puppy feels hot and has a wet nose, is he sick?

My puppy is yorkshire terrier. He has a wet nose. When I touch the top of his head, it is hot.

Is he sick or what? Can you help me? Thank u.

Hi
It's impossible to tell if your puppy is sick or not from what you describe I'm afraid.

Dogs often have wet noses, but they can be dry too, either may or may not belong to a healthy dog!

Also, a dogs normal temperature is higher than a human's, and anything between 100F and 102F is usually fine. You wouldn't be able to tell whether or not he has a fever just by touching his head.

If a puppy is happy, active, eating and drinking normally and doesn't have recurring puppy diarrhea or vomiting, then chances are he's fine.

However, it's always best to have a new puppy examined fully by your own veterinarian to make sure all is well, and to ensure that he is up to date with all his puppy shots and worming treatments.

Hope this helps, best of luck with your puppy.
