mother to eat pups normal????

my pit bull had 8 pups half rott and half pitt. one of them was born dead so she ate it . we thought that was normal so we left her.

the next day 2 more were gone but we don't know if our other chihuahua is eating them but we think not cause mom wouldn't let her.

so we want to know if its normal for her to have eating 2 healthy pups ??????????HELP????????

No, it's not normal for a momma dog to eat her puppies. Sometimes, if a puppy is born dead, the momma may eat it along with the sac it came in and the afterbirth. However, to kill/eat healthy puppies is not right.

I'd recommend that you take these pups away from their mom and hand raise them, otherwise you may find none of them survive.
