muscle bump on chihuahua's head

my puppy has a bump on his head, the vet says it's muscle that has grown, probably after a bump, and that it might not go away ever.

Is there any treatment?

Hi
I'm afraid your vet is the best person to answer this question and I'd have to recommend that you pay more attention to his opinion than to mine!

If it is indeed a lump that has come up in response to a knock on the head, then personally I would expect it to go down over time. Usually a lump that comes up under those circumstances is due to tissue swelling or inflammation, both of which diminish over time.

I've never actually heard of a muscle swelling like that, but if your vet thinks that's what it is he is most likely right.

Chihuahuas often have a 'soft spot' on the top of their heads where the skull bones haven't closed properly and the brain is only covered by membrane. If your pups swelling is in that location it could be something more serious and I'd definitely advise you to have your vet look at it again.

Sorry I can't help more but wish you the very best of luck!
