I have a 11 week old puppy and he has a very foul odored white discharge coming from his left nostril.
He's been sneezing a lot more and he's up to date on his shots.
If someone knows anything about this please let me know!
Thanks
Hi
A discharge like this, especially if it smells bad, is most likely the sign of an infection of some sort.
It could be caused by congestion due to allergies, a virus, an upper respiratory tract infection or one of the common, contagious dog illnesses that puppies are vulnerable to.
Unless he's had all 3 sets of his puppy shots your little guy is not fully protected from the canine diseases vaccinations are designed to eliminate.
Chances are though that it's a simply respiratory infection, but he absolutely needs to be evaluated by your own veterinarian as he most likely needs antibiotics to treat that infection.
An upper respiratory problem can turn into pneumonia if left untreated, and that is a serious situation, especially in a young puppy.
I strongly recommend getting him evaluated by your vet right away so that he can start getting better.
Hope this helps, best of luck with your new puppy.
