my 13 week old german shepherd has had diarrhea for 3 weeks now. On Feb 15 he was diagnosed with giardia. He was on medicine. Next stool came back clear for giardia.
Since I purchased him he has had diarrhea. This sounds digusting but sometimes when he goes his diarrhea is so forceful that it is like someone urinating. can you give me some answers?
Hi
I would guess that your pup hasn't totally recovered from the bout of Giardia yet. This illness can be difficult to eliminate and often a dog needs more than one round of treatment.
I'd recommend that you take your pup back to the veterinarian and explain that in spite of the negative fecal test, he is still having symptoms which are pretty severe (the watery diarrhea for example). I'd also suggest that you read my Giardia In Dogs page to learn more about this condition and what treatments are normally given.
There's no reason that your pup (and you) should have to suffer through this, get him back to your vet asap so that he can get any additional treatment he needs.
Best of luck, hope he's doing much better soon.
