my 3 months old dog has not been eating/ playing well after the vaccination.

Please help!




Hi Kavita
It's not unusual for a puppy to have a minor reaction to her vaccinations. Most often this will be seen as low energy, loss of appetite, maybe some swelling or pain at the site of the injection and perhaps even a low-grade fever.

Generally these symptoms only last for a day or two and the pup makes a full recovery and feels much better after that.

More serious reactions can include hives or a rash, swelling of the face/head or body, difficulty breathing - even seizures. This type of reaction needs veterinary treatment and any pup who does react this way will need special care when the next set of puppy shots are due.
