i have a 4 week old lab pup she was born first and just now we notice that her back left leg is weak, the other 3 pups we have are walking now and she can't due to her leg.
she can't seem to get her leg tucked in to pull herself up. if i try and help her with her leg she can sit and stand for a few seconds but then she lays down again. she can move her leg and she can bend it but it just seems to be a little stiff but i don't know if it's her hip or if it's just her leg and her muscle is just weak or if maybe when she was in the birth canal before being born maybe her leg was twisted.
idk but i sure want her to get better so she can walk. please help if u can. thanks so much
Hi Diana
You really need to have this little girl fully examined by your veterinarian as it's impossible to guess what is wrong, but something definitely is.
Labs are one of the breeds that can be susceptible to hip problems and it's possible that there is a congenital issue that's showing up very early on. However, there are also other possibilities of course and only a vet can make an accurate diagnosis.
This isn't going to get better by itself and the sooner you get her evaluated the better as you'll know if any treatment is needed.
I wish you lots of luck and hope this little one is moving around much more easily soon.
